The cloud-based 3D CAD/CAM tool combines industrial and mechanical design, and machining into one package, to allow for quick integration. Autodesk will work with Ivy Tech to update, change and develop their certification, and also to determine how the certification is assessed. The certification was rolled out to Ivy Tech students and faculty in March after a three-month evaluation process.
“Having the opportunity for our faculty, students, and local industry to give feedback about how certifications are viewed and utilized and how they could be changed to better reflect students’ knowledge of software was a great opportunity for our program and college,” said Jason Roth, program chair for Design Technology at Ivy Tech Indianapolis.
Ivy Tech’s Design Technology program has used Autodesk for years, and students also have opportunities to join Autodesk, including their Catalyst program that offers them a chance to compete in competitions around the world.
