Harsin, who previously served as vice chancellor of academic affairs, has held the role on an interim basis since August.
In addition to overseeing the management of operations and services on the campus, Ivy Tech said Harsin will work to build new and deeper employer and community partnerships.
Also among her duties will be leading the campus though several initiatives, including a partnership with Hanover College to launch veterinary teaching facilities in 2025 and a partnership with the Indaina Department of Correction to provide high school equivalency and vocational classrooms at IDOC facilities.
“Amanda has become a trusted leader within the college and the Ivy Tech Madison service area, including Switzerland, Jefferson, and Trimble counties,” Ivy Tech President Sue Ellspermann said in a news release. “I am confident her experience and contributions to Ivy Tech Madison will take the campus to new heights by producing more graduates, deep partnerships, and workforce aligned programming that will translate into sustainable outcomes for the college for years to come.”
Harsin served as vice chancellor for five years before being named interim chancellor.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Hanover College, a Master of Arts in Communication Theory from the University of Kentucky, and a PhD in Health Communication Theory and Research from IUPUI.
