Ivy Tech Bloomington to build cybersecurity simulator

The college participated in the “Pitch for the Skilled Trades” competition at the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship annual conference Oct. 31 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The contest was an opportunity for collegiate staff and administration to demonstrate local need, an idea to support economic impact and jobs and ask for funding.
The college’s Cyber Range will allow students to work in a cybersecurity training simulation where they will run team assignments, optimize tech stack and processes and collaborate.
The funds will be used to buy software and hardware for the project. It will live within the Smithville Center for Computing and Informatics on the Bloomington campus.
The college has about 190 cybersecurity students enrolled each year.
