The event involves academic networking and collaboration for faculty and Ph.D. students at 10 universities from throughout the Midwest.
Organizers say nearly 100 professors and Ph.D. students have registered for the conference. IU Kelley Executive Associate Dean of Faculty and research Laureen Maines says the event "provides a forum for these outstanding scholars to interact with other world-class accounting scholars to refine current research and to develop new ideas for future research."
The conference will include presentations on early-stage academic papers. Kelley says, throughout the history of the conference, several papers presented there have later been published in prominent accounting journals. This year’s paper presentations include "Who’s on the Hot Seat for an SEC Investigation and How Do They Respond," by Ohio State accounting instructor Eric Holzman, who received his Ph.D. from Kelley last year.
Other participating schools include Michigan State, Penn State and Purdue universities, the universities of Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota as well as the University of Notre Dame and the University of Kentucky.
