Plans filed with the city’s plan commission call for an 88,000 square-foot facility on the IU Health North Hospital campus. The center will be built where a parking lot and green space are now located.
The Carmel location, which opened in 2005, doesn’t currently have a cancer center. It serves as a full-service location with physician offices, inpatient rooms, operating rooms and medical office space. It will go before the plan commission April 17.
IU Health says the center will be "leading-edge" and include radiation oncology, hematology-oncology, pharmacy, lab and patient navigation services. A groundbreaking is slated for some time in the fall.
