News Release
Muncie, Ind. — The IU Health Ball Memorial Board has announced several changes, most notably the retirement of its chairman.
Jim Fisher announced his decision to retire from the Board of Directors in July after serving for seven years. He served on the board, first as vice-chairman and then as chairman. Fisher is stepping down as his family relocates to North Carolina.
Taking Mr. Fisher’s place as chairman of the hospital board is Michael L. Cox, who has served on the board of directors since 1987. During his tenure Cox has chaired several committees and also served as board treasurer from 2009. Cox was president of First Merchants Corporation from 1998 until his retirement in 2007.
Filling the vacancy on the hospital board will be Jud Fisher, president and COO of Ball Brothers Foundation, who has been active on the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation board since 2000. Fisher is a Michigan native, graduate of DePauw University and is active in several local boards and leadership positions.
