After a more than two-year effort, the school will be split into two institutions, Purdue University Fort Wayne and Indiana University Fort Wayne, beginning Sunday.
Purdue will operate the majority of the campus, while IU will operate and manage the health science programs on the campus. The boards of trustees for both universities approved the realignment in December 2016 and finalized the deal last July.
IU and Purdue previously operated separate institutions in Fort Wayne before coming together to form IPFW in 1964.
