The refrigerated warehouse company will mark 50 years in business this year, going from a one-warehouse operation to five locations in Indiana and Ohio with more than 100 employees.
ICS was founded in 1973 by Vincent Tippmann and started with seven employees. The company now operates two warehouse facilities in Fort Wayne, two in Columbus, Ohio and another in the northeastern Ohio city of Napoleon.
Heading into its 50th year, ICS boasted an 18% year-over-year increase in revenue in 2022.
“We are incredibly proud to achieve this significant milestone,” ICS National Sales Manager Charles Betts said in written remarks. “We wouldn’t be here without the hard work and dedication of our employees, who have created a legacy that stretches across multiple generations. By continuing to expand and innovate, ICS stays ahead of the curve in an ever-changing market.”
ICS provides cold storage, temporary storage, quick-freezing and space-guarantee services, as well as rail access. The company said it has nearly 22 million cubic feet of refrigerated space across its network.
A spokesperson for ICS tells Inside INdiana Business the company is planning an addition in Fort Wayne within the next two years, but specific details were not provided.
