Baier, who currently serves as the center’s vice president of programs and services, will succeed Diane Thomas in January.
Thomas will leave the organization at the end of the year to prepare for a 27-month engagement with the peace Corps as an NGO advisor in Ukraine. She has led the International Center for the past 10 years.
Baier joined the International Center in 2011. Before joining the organization, he ran All German Solutions LLC, a cross-cultural consulting company. The native of Germany served for more than 20 years with the German Air Force, ultimately achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. He also served as Liaison Officer to NATO forces in the International Combined Air Operations Center as well as liaison to the U.S. Air Force on combined projects.
The International Center operates with a goal of sparking Indiana’s international growth. The organization works with businesses, organizations, government agencies, educational institutions and individuals.
