Indy Reads Promotes Malins to VP

Her new role combines program development, community outreach, and building comprehensive training programs for instructors and volunteer tutors. Malins is an educator with 15 years of experience in literacy and English language instruction, including teaching for two school districts, a private organization overseas, and a refugee resettlement organization.
She most recently served as center director for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes in Walnut Creek, California. Malins has implemented a process-based curriculum that addresses the root of reading challenges by developing the underlying sensory-cognitive processes needed for reading and writing. She has trained instructors in this method in order to successfully teach low-level readers.
