RTS says it plans to invest more than $20 million to upgrade and equip its existing 100,000-square-foot facility on the city’s near south side.
RTS, which was founded in 2015, says the expansion will serve as the catalyst for its dedicated regional division. The company says it plans to add a second location in northern Indiana over the next few years.
“We have developed a strong reputation in the local area for outstanding service, and our customers have a strong desire to grow with us in the Midwest area,” Noah Sodrel, founder and chief executive officer of RTS, said in a news release. “Indiana has always been home for us, and we look forward to bringing more trucking opportunities into the state of Indiana.”
RTS currently employs 35 team members and has already added five new employees. The company is currently hiring for regional truck drivers.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered RTS up to $1.3 million in conditional tax credits, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs.
