IWU is launching a new Mobile Career Lab this fall to expand access to career assessment and mapping tools.
Officials will cut a ribbon for the mobile services at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at the IWU North Indy campus at 3777 Priority Way South Drive.
In the meantime, the Mobile Career Lab team is working with Indianapolis-area partners in launching the program with hopes of eventually expanding services to other communities across the state and in northern Kentucky and Ohio.
The mobile lab will offer strength-based assessments, allowing individuals to learn more about careers that might interest them, and offer guidance on pathways to pursuing that career. Working with partner organizations, the Mobile Career Lab teams also plan to offer information about how to finish a high school diploma or earn a G.E.D.
University officials say they hope the new mobile lab helps demystify career services.
“Indiana Wesleyan University’s Mobile Career Lab is eliminating barriers in education by taking opportunities and resources straight to the community,” IWU Director of Career Labs Carla Biro said in a university news release.
A calendar with updated Mobile Career Lab events and locations will be kept on the university’s website. More information can be found by visiting indwes.edu/adult-graduate/career-services/mobile.
