The company says the toll rate for a full-length trip across the 157-mile toll road for a Class 2 passenger vehicle will now be $15.54, an increase of 84 cents.
A full-length trip for a Class 5 truck is now $83.86, an increase of $4.56 from last year.
ITR Concession Co. said in a news release that toll rates vary according to vehicle class, distance traveled, and payment method, with most customers paying substantially lower than the full-length maximum fair.
The average Class 2 passenger vehicle toll rate, according to the company, is $4-$5. You can view a breakdown of toll rates for all vehicle classes here.
The ITRCC is required to use toll revenues to invest in ongoing enhancements to roadway infrastructure and customer services. In December, the company completed the Northwest Indiana Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Lake County, which saw the reconstruction of 19 bridges.
In February, the toll road operator completed Project Soleil, which involved the installation of 14 solar energy systems it says will generate enough energy to service more than one-third of the toll road’s electricity needs.
A new pavement and bridge reconstruction project in LaGrange and Steuben counties is slated to begin in 2025.
