Subscribe NowIndiana Tech in Fort Wayne and Ivy Tech Community College have launched a statewide reverse transfer agreement. It is designed for students who have transferred to Indiana Tech before completing an associate degree at Ivy Tech.
To be eligible, students must have completed at least 15 credit hours from Ivy Tech and be currently enrolled as an Indiana Tech undergraduate. When the student has earned 75 or more credit hours, he or she will be notified each semester of potential eligibility for an Ivy Tech associate degree through reverse transfer.
"Reverse articulations make good sense," says Indiana Tech Vice President for Enrollment Management Steve Herendeen. "They provide a unique benefit to those wanting to complete their degree, even if circumstances have interrupted their intended path." He says students who complete their associate degrees are also more likely to earn their bachelor’s degrees.
Ivy Tech already has reverse transfer agreements with the University of Southern Indiana, Indiana State University, Purdue University, Trine University, Western Governors University, Ottawa University and University of Phoenix. The school says it has awarded more than 225 associate degrees through reverse transfer to date.
