Indiana Packers Subsidiary to Build Feed Mill Near Peru

The Kokomo Tribune reports OP Nutrition will invest $24 million to construct the facility, which is expected to create 14 jobs.
Indiana Packers Vice President of Engineering John Revord tells the publication the mill will take corn and soybeans from local farmers to create feed for swine operations. The mill is expected to produce about 300,000 tons per year.
The Miami County Council has approved a 10-year tax abatement for the company’s building plans, according to the Tribune. Brooke Robertson, director of business retention with the Miami County Economic Development Authority, tells the publication the facility should generate more than $1 million in tax revenue.
