Indiana Chamber’s ‘Best Places to Work’ rankings unveiled

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday unveiled the rankings of the 2024 Best Places to Work in Indiana. A record 193 companies from throughout the state are ranked among four categories, with two hitting the No. 1 spot for the first time.
This year’s rankings feature companies that represent more than 40 cities and towns, including Carmel, Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Marion, Plainfield, Warsaw and Washington.
The No. 1 ranked companies this year are:
- JA Benefits, a Bedford-based insurance and employee benefits company – small category (between 15 and 74 U.S. employees)
- TrueScripts, a prescription benefit management service in Washington – medium category (between 75 and 249 U.S. employees)
- Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing and Casino, a casino and racing park in Anderson – large category (between 250 and 999 U.S. employees)
- ARCO Design/Build, a national design/build construction firm with a location in Indianapolis – major category (1,000 or more U.S. employees)
TrueScripts landed the No. 1 spot in the medium category for the third consecutive year. President and CEO Dean Merder told Inside INdiana Business Host Gerry Dick that receiving the award is all about his team.
“Our culture is our No. 1 priority every year. Growth and profit will come as long as we have the best team members on board. So, it’s just a huge tribute and compliment to them,” Merder said.
JA Benefits received the No. 1 spot in the small category for the fifth time, while Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing and Casino and ARCO Design/Build each made the top spot for the first time.
Vanessa Green Sinders, who was named CEO of the Indiana Chamber last September and began her tenure in January, says the fact that a record number of companies were recognized speaks to the strength of the Indiana business community.
“Workforce and talent is a driver of everything and economic growth,” Sinders said. “I think every one of these 193 companies is doing so many things right to attract, retain and keep their talent, and that’s what we need to be doing in Indiana to make sure we continue to stay on top.”
The rankings were determined by employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys.
The chamber said all companies that participated in the Best Places to Work program will receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees.
