The company, a subsidiary of Buchanan Group, is investing more than $2 million in the facility, expanding its nationwide footprint.
Private Label said in a news release that the 35,000-square-foot warehouse will cater to family-owned funeral homes in the region.
“We are excited about this new warehouse in Salt Lake City as it will meet the diverse needs of our customers while maintaining our unwavering focus on quality and excellence,” Buchanan Group CEO Bruce Buchanan said in the release. “We attribute our growth primarily from loyal clients recommending our goods and services to their friends and business associates.”
Private Label was launched in 2008 by Buchanan Group as a means to cut costs while maintaining a high quality product. The company’s caskets are designed in Indianapolis and manufactured overseas.
The company did not specify how many jobs would be created at the new warehouse. A spokesperson told Inside INdiana Business the facility will begin with a small crew of service and delivery personnel.
“Early market indicators suggest the local demand will require a rapid expansion of product offering and service content that will reach a broad geography throughout Utah and beyond,” the spokesperson said. “We expect this distribution center to be a major regional player similar to the master warehousing operations in Indianapolis which services most Midwest states.”
In addition to its Indianapolis location and the new facility in Salt Lake City, Private Label operates warehouses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Missouri, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas and Puerto Rico.
