Indiana casino revenue surpasses $200 million

Subscribe NowIndiana’s 12 casinos generated a total of $213.6 million in March, marking the first time the revenue total has surpassed $200 million since last April. While last month’s total was 11.5% higher than February, it was also 2% lower than the same month the previous year.
March was the third consecutive month with a year-over-year revenue decline, according to analysts from PlayIndiana.com.
Half of the state’s casinos saw individual year-over-year revenue gains, with Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana in Gary continuing to lead the pack with $40.5 million in March, a 6% increase.
Bally’s Evansville, Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, Belterra Casino in Switzerland County, French Lick Resort, and Rising Star Casino in Ohio County also saw year-over-year gains.
PlayIndiana said slots accounted for $184.7 million of Indiana’s revenue total, with table games making up the remaining $38.7 million.
Year-to-date, casino revenue is at $1.67 billion, which is 5.7% lower than the same period in the previous fiscal year. The total revenue for Fiscal Year 2023 was $2.36 billion.
The revenue report for April will be the first to include information from the new Terre Haute Casino Resort, which opened earlier this month.
