The university said this week it enrolled the most students in its history this fall with 1,504 students compared to 1,428 the year before.
“The fact that more than 1,500 students are participating in our residential, online and graduate programs is a significant milestone for Huntington University,” President Sherilyn Emberton said in a news release. “We are encouraged to see the growth that is happening in historic areas and through some of our most recent initiatives and new programs.”
The university recorded 994 undergraduate students at its home campus in Huntington and 242 undergraduates in its Peoria, Arizona, location.
Huntington’s fall class represents 41 states, including 65 of Indiana’s 92 counties, and 38 countries. The university also saw an increase in its enrollment of minority students, which sits at 23% for the 2023-24 school year.
University officials attribute growth to new partnerships, such as with Indiana Tech, Parkview Health and Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine.
“Through these strategic partnerships and innovative delivery models, we are offering programs that meet workforce needs,” Emberton said. “These majors, in collaboration with our public and private sector partners, provide new opportunities for our students and the communities we serve.”
