HUD Awards Funding to Indiana Housing Authorities

Subscribe NowThe U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded $78 million to housing authorities across the country to help residents increase income and lessen dependency on public assistance. Thirteen Indiana housing authorities are among those receiving funding.
“This funding will empower individuals and their families across Indiana to get them on a path towards self-sufficiency and prosperity to attain their God given potential,” HUD Midwest Regional Administrator Joseph P. Galvan said.
HUD’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program assists public housing authorities with hiring service coordinators who work with residents to get them involved in local programs and services, including job placement.
Funds were distributed to these Indiana Housing Authorities:
- Housing Authority of the city of Elkhart – $50,750.00
- Hammond – $61,944.00
- Housing Authority of the city of Terre Haute – $112,445.00
- Housing Authority of the city of Kokomo – $52,292.00
- South Bend Housing Authority – $43,407.00
- Housing Authority of the city of Gary – $50,951.00
- The Housing Authority of the city of New Albany Indiana – $176,874.00
- Housing Authority city of Vincennes – $44,509.00
- Fort Wayne Housing Authority – $148,174.00
- Indianapolis Housing Agency – $255,162.00
- Housing Authority of the city of Columbus Indiana – $47,769.00
- The Housing Authority of the city of Evansville – $132,452.00
