Hoosier hospitals ranked among best by U.S. News

Subscribe NowU.S. News & World Report is out with its annual “Best Hospitals” ranking, and five Indiana hospitals are being recognized. The publication evaluates nearly 5,000 hospitals on more than 30 medical and surgical services, including cancer, cardiology and orthopedics.
Indiana University Health University Hospital in downtown Indianapolis is the highest-ranked Hoosier hospital on the list.
The publication listed the hospital as “high performing” in several categories, including cancer, gastroenterology & GI surgery, geriatrics, neurology & neurosurgery, heart failure, and colon cancer surgery.
The full Indiana rankings are:
- IU Health University Hospital – Indianapolis
- Deaconess Hospital – Evansville
- Franciscan Health Indianapolis
- Community Hospital – Munster (tied, 4th)
- Parkview Regional Medical Center – Fort Wayne (tied, 4th)
The publication’s “Honor Roll,” which celebrates the top hospitals throughout the country, does not include any Indiana hospitals. Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston tops this year’s list, followed by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Cleveland Clinic.
