The publication ranked companies based on a survey of about 45,000 workers at U.S. companies and institutions with 5,000 or more employees.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to compile the list. Participants were asked if they would recommend their current employers to friends and family, and to cite any other employer they would also recommend.
The final list is a ranking of the 500 employers that received the most recommendations.
The Indiana companies featured on the list include:
- No. 24 – Community Health Network
- No. 88 – Roche Holding
- No. 90 – Purdue University
- No. 119 – Deaconess Health System
- No. 120 – Cummins
- No. 128 – Eli Lilly & Co.
- No. 359 – Elevance Health
- No. 371 – Berry Global Group
“Among large, global employers, we recognize employees have options,” said Berry EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer Jeffrey Bennett. “And we work hard to foster a safe, ethical, inclusive, engaged and rewarding work environment. We are proud to be recognized as a top employer by employees and believe our focus on safety, ethical business practices, talent development and employee engagement will continue to attract and retain top talent at all levels in the organization.”
Massachusetts Institute of Technology tops the 2023 list, followed by Houston Methodist in Texas, Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
