The college says it has also added 24 faculty members and advisors with the expansion of its academic programs.
The college says enrollment has grown in all areas, including strong growth in non-traditional students through the Moreau Academic Initiative. The program offers undergraduate courses to enrolled inmates at Westville Correctional Facility and Indiana Women’s Prison.
Holy Cross has added one-yer and two-year pre-engineering tracks to its Division of Science. The college says new majors in biology and computer science are currently being developed, awaiting formal accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission this fall. Students also now have the ability to take new classes in music, theatre and dance through a collaboration with Saint Mary’s College.
In addition to the record enrollment, Holy Cross says more than 350 students are utilizing college-sponsored housing this semester, which is also a new record. The college is in the second year of implementing its two-year live-on-campus requirement for freshmen and sophomores.
