Holiday Inn will be investing $4 million to build and equip the new hotel. Columbia City awarded Holiday Inn CEDIT based incentives to help offset costs for utility infrastructure and approved a 10-year tax abatement at the request of the Whitley County EDC. The project will bring 10 full-time and eight part-time jobs.
The new hotel will be owned and operated by Vidhi 2 LLC. Owner Raj Patel and his family have managed hotels in Fort Wayne, Plymouth and in Michigan.
“Columbia City officials and residents welcome Holiday Inn Express and Suites to our community,” said Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel, “Whitley County has become known as a great place to do business and this development expands that reputation. Thanks to the partnership between Vidhi 2 LLC and the City, our community will continue building a future together.”
Construction on the hotel is expected to begin in March and is expected to be completed in June 2017.
