The program will be based on recommendations from a task force made up of government, education and business leaders.
Hogsett announced the creation of the Indianapolis Promise Task Force during his 2017 State of the City address. The goal, he says, is to make a post-secondary credential or degree attainable for every resident of Indianapolis.
At the time, Hogsett said the Indianapolis Promise effort would provide "a pathway of hope" for Marion county students through quality education options. He said it would send a message to students and their families "that the success of our city is inextricably linked to their own success."
The mayor will join representatives from IUPUI, Ivy Tech Community College, EmployIndy and the Wayne Township School Corporation Tuesday afternoon to detail the program.
