The Federally Qualified Health Center said Tuesday that it is assuming operation of Northwest Medical Group – Pediatric Care’s two locations in La Porte and Michigan City in December.
The two pediatric offices will transition to the HealthLinc brand on Dec. 1, though HealthLinc said patients will continue to see the providers and staff that have served them under the Northwest Medical Group banner.
“This will be a unique opportunity for the pediatric providers at Northwest Medical Group to augment their high-quality care and service with additional support for their patient,” Simon Ratliff, CEO of Northwest Health – La Porte, said in a news release. “As part of HealthLinc, their patients will have ready access to community health workers, behavioral health clinicians, and dentists.”
The Northwest Medical Group pediatric office at 1509 State Street in La Porte will become HealthLinc La Porte Pediatrics. The office in Michigan City, however, will relocate to the HealthLinc Michigan City location at 200 Alfred Street.
“We are looking forward to working with these highly regarded providers from Northwest Medical Group and serving even more children in La Porte County,” HealthLinc CEO Melissa Mitchell said. “We are committed to ensuring the current Northwest Medical Group – Pediatric Care patients experience a smooth transition to HealthLinc.”
Northwest Medical Group has 22 employees.
