Beck’s Hybrids and Indiana AgriNews on Friday awarded the Muegge family with the honor for their dedication and service as a farm family.
The organizations use the award to raise awareness of farm families’ contributions and service to the community and industry.
“While agriculture continues to evolve, the resilience of farm families does not,” Beck’s President Scott Beck said in a news release. “The Muegge family represents an unwavering dedication to their hometown and Indiana agriculture that we are proud to recognize.”
Bruce and Linda Muegge lead the cattle and grain operation with their children and their spouses’ help. The family hosted their first M5 Farm to Fork Market in 2021, which is dedicated to driving local production and bring producers together.
“Helping others is what’s most important,” Linda Muegge said in the release. “We’ve worked hard to instill that in our children and our grandchildren.”
The couple is heavily involved locally and have placements on serve local boards. Their children did the same and are involved in a slew of farming groups and local leadership.
The family was recognized at the 2023 Indiana Farm Bureau Convention on Dec. 15, 2023, in Fort Wayne.
Nominations for the 2025 family will open this summer
