(NYSE: GXO) this week announced changes to operations at a Fort Wayne facility. The third party logistics provider says it will no longer provide services to the facility, a move that will impact 85 employees.
A GXO spokesperson told Inside INdiana Business on Thursday the company’s customer has decided to manage its own operations at the facility located at 12301 Bluffton Road in Fort Wayne.
As a result, the company has filed a WARN Notice with the state, saying the 85 employees will be separated from their employment with GXO over a 14-day period beginning Feb. 28, 2023.
However, the spokesperson said employees will have the opportunity to apply for positions with the customer at the same facility or transfer to other GXO sites.
“Local human resources teams from both companies will be available onsite to assist employees,” the spokesperson said.
GXO Logistics provides a variety of logistics services to multiple industries, including e-commerce, agribusiness, and healthcare.
The company employs about 130,000 people at 950 warehouses in 28 countries and reported $7.9 billion in revenue in 2021, according to its website.
