Groundbreaking Set for $380M Can Plant in Muncie

Subscribe NowOfficials from Delaware County and the city of Muncie will join executives from CANPACK Wednesday to break ground on an 862,000-square-foot aluminum can manufacturing facility. The Poland-based maker of beverage cans announced plans in May to invest $380 million to build the facility in Muncie.
The company says it will be hiring 345 workers within two years. Based on those job projections, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered CANPACK’S parent, Giorgi Global Holdings Inc. up to $5.0 million in conditional tax credits and training grants.
Once operational, sometime in late 2022, this plant will CANPACK’S second U.S. site. Its other plant is in Pennsylvania.
