The facility has been closed since April for a more than $2 million renovation project.
Now that renovations are complete, the facility features two distinct zones: "Kid City," a two-story, STEAM-focused play and activity zone for kids, and "The Gym," an expanded adult workout area. It also includes activities rooms that can be rented for special events and business meetings.
"To be a successful city, a city appealing to both current and potential new residents and businesses, Greenwood must offer desirable amenities and a high quality of life," said Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers. "Our new Community Center will be the premier south side destination for both families and active, health-minded individuals. The transformation is incredible."
Once it is reopened, the community center will have permanently extended hours of operation. The facility will officially reopen at 8:00 a.m. Saturday.
