Pride’s Express Car Wash has been acquired by Wisconsin-based Tsunami Express, though financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
Founded in 2017, Tsunami Express currently has locations in Gary, La Porte and Portage. The company bills itself as a data-enabled car wash platform business.
The company said it plans to work with the Pride’s Express team to optimize its service and product offerings with its data platform and marketing technology.
“The acquisition of Pride’s Express advances our efforts to scale innovation in the express car wash industry,” Tsunami CEO Chris Schuldt said in a news release. “We will leverage our marketing and automation engine to enhance the already great service Pride’s delivers to Goshen and the surrounding Elkhart County area.”
Tsunami said the acquired locations will continue to operate under the Pride’s Express brand. Vice President Brandon Gill said in an email to IIB the company is “very likely” to add jobs, though an estimated number was not provided.
Tsunami Express is backed by California-based private equity firm Point72 Hyperscale, which invests in businesses “where applied artificial intelligence can drive transformational change.”
