Morse currently serves as director of disability initiatives for Greater Fort Wayne Inc.
Goodwill says in his current role, Morse has collaborated with the organization in the past. He also served as a senior Walmart manager for more than a decade prior to joining GFW.
“These advanced skills in store operations and social services will greatly benefit our organization, our clients, our team, and our customers,” Randy Rusk, Goodwill board member and search committee chair, said in written remarks. “While we extended our recruitment efforts across the country to find the most qualified candidate to lead our organization forward, we have been blessed to find our next CEO right here in Fort Wayne.”
Morse will succeed Bill Warriner, who in June announced plans to retire at the end of the year after more than 31 years in the role.
“Bill has been instrumental in evolving the organization’s reach to online and in-store customers, and strengthening the foundation for Kevin to build on,” said Board Chair Steve Zacher. “Bill’s been a strong voice for those facing barriers to employment. He’s a model of servant leadership, and while we’ll miss him dearly, we wish him the very best in retirement.”
Morse will begin his new role on Nov. 14. Goodwill says Warriner will work with Morse to ensure a seamless transition.
