Highland Academy is a 9,200-square-foot golf center which is part of a 30-year agreement between Butler and Highland.
The facility will serve as the year-round practice home of Butler’s men’s and women’s golf teams, but will also be able to be utilized by the community’s children through the First Tee program and Highland’s Foundation. The center features a 3,000 square foot putting green, five hitting bays, and is outfitted with Trackman technology. Two golf simulators will also allow users to play virtual courses around the world. The $1.6 million academy will also feature a bar and lounge area, along with a conference room.
Highland is also partnering with PGA Hope, which is a program to introduce golf to local wounded veterans. Plans are also in the works to implement golf programs at Indianapolis schools who currently don’t have golf teams.
