Elyssa Campodonico-Barr, who previously served as chief of staff of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, succeeds Pat Wachtel, who retired from the position in January.
Prior to her tenure with the BMV, Campodonico-Barr served as an attorney in the Indiana University Office of the Vice President & General Counsel. In her new role, she will oversee the staff of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, work in partnership with the national Girls Inc. organization and provide the strategic vision and direction for the agency.
"Elyssa’s enthusiasm for empowering girls and her inspiring vision for how to do that in today’s environment meant that she quickly rose to the top of a competitive candidate pool," said Board Chair Ellen Humphrey. "The Board was unanimous in our selection of Elyssa, and we look forward to supporting her as she elevates the work of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis."
Campodonico-Barr will officially begin her new position in mid-May.
