Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed. The acquisition brings the total number of Gillman-owned locations in Indiana and southwestern Ohio to 18.
Goecker Building Supplies was founded by Connie and Max Roeder 1974. Gillman Home Center Chief Operating Officer Curtis Gillman said the family has excelled in serving the North Vernon and Seymour communities.
“The culture they’ve established closely aligns with ours,” Gillman said. “They share our values of taking care of team members, being community-minded, and providing great value and knowledgeable service to professionals and homeowners alike. This makes it a perfect acquisition for Gillman’s.”
Max Roeder said in a news release that Gillman shares his company’s priorities, including putting employees first.
Goecker Building Supplies currently has 19 employees, and a spokesperson for Gillman said the company expects to add 11 more jobs following the acquisition.
Gillman Home Centers plans to seamlessly integrate Goecker’s operations into the fold to ensure a smooth transition for customers. Among the key changes will be migrating co-op affiliation and vendor partnerships to Do It Best and expanding product offerings.
“These two stores not only make geographical sense for our continued brand outreach, but they’re located in two amazing communities with significant growth potential and a history of supporting independent businesses,” Gillman said. “These long-standing, community-based, family-operated businesses are aligned with the culture of Gillman Home Centers.”
Gillman Home Centers currently has 430 employees. The company has over a dozen locations in Indiana, including in Batesville, Connersville, Edinburgh, Gas City, Muncie, and Winchester.
