Giant Eagle Finalizes Acquisition of Ricker Oil Company

Anderson-based Ricker Oil Company has been officially acquired by Giant Eagle Inc. The Pittsburgh-based company will bring their GetGo Cafe + Market brand together with Ricker’s brands across the state. The deal was first announced in September.

Giant Eagle takes over 56 Ricker’s convenience stores in the Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne metro areas, and throughout Central Indiana. The deal also includes Ricker Oil’s wholesale fuel distribution business and dozens of branded supply accounts in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois. 

“Today is a very special day because we welcome more than 800 new Team Members to our Giant Eagle family and begin work to bring together Ricker’s and GetGo into a leading food-first convenience retailer in Indiana,” said Giant Eagle President and Chief Executive Officer Laura Karet.

Giant Eagle first opened a GetGo Cafe + Market in the Indianapolis area in 2015 and has since opened six other locations throughout Central Indiana.
