Group 1001 Chief Executive Officer Dan Towriss says INDYCAR’s new NBC deal gives the company the opportunity to widely promote its financial services platform Gainbridge and build on its existing sponsorship deal with Andretti Autosport and driver Zach Veach.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced the agreement at a Thursday news conference. As part of the deal, Gainbridge will also become the official annuity and life insurance partner of INDYCAR, IMS and the Indy 500.
"The drivers, they need accumulation vehicles, they need to think about retirement and what they do and not just racing today," said Towriss in an interview with Inside INdiana Business Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman. "And so we can take Gainbridge and the principles behind that and even our other products and work with the drivers so that they can start to build up future income streams."
The 103rd Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge is scheduled for Sunday, May 26.
