Wisconsin-based Vonco Products LLC has acquired Genesis Plastics Welding in Fortville, though financial terms are not being disclosed.
Vonco is a plastic products and packaging manufacturer. The company, which employs about 140 people, said the acquisition will provide support to clients who need specialty medical devices, fluid bags, flexible packaging, contract packaging and sterilization management.
Genesis, which has about 60 employees in Indiana, makes a variety of products for the medical device industry, such as wearable compression devices, ostomy care bags, and single-use mattresses.
“This acquisition will support our mission of ‘We care more’ by merging the talent of both organizations and supporting our ability to produce even more end-to-end solutions for our customers,” Vonco CEO Keith Smith said in a news release. “The addition will expand our plastic contract manufacturing capabilities within our current line of infection prevention, medical fluid bags and specimen transport products.”
A spokesperson for Vonco said in an email to IIB the company plans to keep Genesis’ Fortville location in operation.
Genesis was founded more than 30 years ago. Vonco’s spokesperson declined to specify if any jobs would be negatively affected by the acquisition.
