First Merchants, Hoosier Trust Finalize Merger

Muncie-based First Merchants Corp. (Nasdaq: FRME) has completed its previously-announced of Hoosier Trust Co. in Indianapolis. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hoosier Trust provides trust and investment management services in central Indiana. First Merchants says it is heavily investing in its Midwest presence and community impact.

“We are excited to formally welcome Hoosier Trust Company’s team and their clients to the First Merchants family,” said First Merchants Private Wealth Advisors President Michael Joyce. “The cultural fit between our two organizations was evident and only reinforced while working together to finalize this merger. We look forward to bringing immediate value through comprehensive solutions and support, while maintaining the personal service these clients covet.”

The acquisition was first announced last year.

First Merchants operates 125 banking offices in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.
