First Merchants Bank Names Region President

She most recently served as managing director for Chicago-based Bank Administration Institute, a national nonprofit providing research, training and thought leadership to the financial services industry. Prior to that, Cable held various leadership roles with National City Bank, PNC Bank and FirstMerit Bank.
She replaces William Thatcher, who returned to the Grand Rapids area to pursue community-driven philanthropy and volunteerism.
Cable’s past experience includes senior management roles in corporate banking, wealth management, capital markets, financial research and business intelligence. Early in her career, she was an accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Cable earned an MBA in finance and marketing from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She maintains an active Certified Public Accountant designation.
