Blume most recently served as the bank’s executive vice president, as well as bank director for parent The Farmers and Merchants Bancorp.
A graduate of Purdue University, Blume joined the bank in 2017 as chief lending officer. Blume succeeds Grant Whaley, who will remain with the bank as CEO and chairman.
“Donald has been instrumental in helping grow our bank and leading our lending operation,” Whaley said in a news release. “He understands that in this position, the main responsibility is to serve others rather than being served, which he has already demonstrated with his lending team. Donald’s keen ability to lead, leveraging both people and technology, is what The Farmers and Merchants Bank will need for continued growth.”
Blume will begin his new role on Jan. 1.
The Farmers and Merchants Bank is headquartered in the Benton County town of Boswell, and also has locations in Otterbein, West Lafayette and Williamsport. The bank serves 11 west-central Indiana counties and has $200 million in assets.
