Indianapolis-based nonprofit Fair Haven will Friday cut the ribbon on a $2.8 million facility for seriously ill patients and their families to stay while they seek critical medical care. Ada’s Place is the organization’s first brick-and-mortar facility, which will be able to assist 1,500 families annually.

Previously, Fair Haven had provided free lodging to patients and families by leasing fully-furnished apartments and partnering with hotels located near local hospitals. The new, 9,300-square-foot facility features two day-service rooms, 12 guest suites for overnight lodging and a community kitchen and dining area.

The facility is located in downtown Indy near IU Health Methodist and University hospitals and the IU Health Simon Cancer Center.

Fair Haven founder and Executive Director Amanda Milner will appear this weekend on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick to talk more about the facility and the nonprofit’s goals.
