Plans for the Community Sports & Wellness Center call for eight tennis courts, as well as weight training, spinning, yoga and indoor sports activity space. The 115,000 square-foot facility will also include daycare space, a pro shop and a café. DeBertrand Gymnastics, formerly Anderson Gymnastics, will relocate to a 14,000 square-foot portion of the center.
Westfield-based Klipsch-Card Athletic Facilities LLC is leading development, Lauth Group Inc. of Carmel is general contractor and Anderson-based KrM is handling architectural responsibilities. Last month, our partners at The Herald-Bulletin in Anderson reported the project has received $3.2 million in incentives from the Pendleton Town Council, which includes the 25-acre property.
Construction is slated to start in the fall and could open early next year. Klipsch-Card Athletic Facilities completed its first athletic facility, the Pacers Athletic Center at Westfield’s Grand Park in 2016. Another multi-million-dollar sports complex, Finch Creek Fieldhouse in Noblesville, is slated to open in the fall.
