Evansville auto dealer expands to Indy market

Subscribe NowEvansville-based Romain Automotive Group on Monday announced its acquisition of Champion Chevrolet in Avon, marking the company’s first foray into the Indianapolis market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Champion Chevrolet was founded in 2013 and is located at 183 S. County Road 525 East in Avon. Romain CEO Amy Romain-Barron said in a news release the acquisition is part of an effort to grow the company’s footprint.
“Champion Chevrolet has a well-earned reputation for delivering outstanding service to customers in Avon and the surrounding Indianapolis area,” said Romain-Barron, who is also CEO of parent United Co. “By combining Champion Chevrolet’s dedication to customer service with our own, we will continue to provide a great experience for customers in metro Indianapolis, while also expanding our automotive network across the state.”
Champion Chevrolet has 68 employees, according to a spokesperson for Romain.
“With the support and resources of Romain Automotive Group and United Companies, we look forward to continuing our growth trajectory and expanding services to our valued customers and the metro Indianapolis community,” Champion General Manager Michael Mills said in the release.
Romain Automotive Group also owns dealerships in Evansville and Terre Haute.
