Our partners at the Daily Journal report the measurement instrumentation provider is looking to build a 120,000-square-foot commercial office and light industrial facility on the south side of Greenwood and create at least 75 jobs.
The new facility would be located west of the company’s current Greenwood site.
Officials told the Greenwood City Council this week, Indianapolis-based instrumentation distributor George E. Booth Co. would relocate to Greenwood and share the space, which will be known as the Endress + Hauser Innovation Center and George E. Booth Co. Headquarters, according to the publication.
The facility will be located on a 70-acre parcel of land, which Endress+Hauser acquired in conjunction with Florida-based Unicorp National Developments Inc. Each company will use 35 acres of land, and Unicorp is planning to develop its portion into retail shops and restaurants.
Krista Taggart, deputy general counsel for E+H, told councilors the facility would house about 190 employees within 10 years with an average annual salary of over $80,000.
“We expect to do that and probably more,” said Taggart. “By moving some of us out of other buildings, this also opens up space in our other buildings for employees to go into those.”
She added George E. Booth Co. would bring 50 jobs to the facility and create an additional 20.
The company is seeking a $3.2 million tax abatement for the project, which the council will consider over the next month.
