Emarsys to be Acquired by German Company

Subscribe NowAustria-based tech company Emarsys, which has its North American headquarters in Indianapolis, will soon be under new ownership. The omnichannel customer engagement platform has entered into an agreement to be acquired by SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) in Germany, though financial details of the deal are not being disclosed.
Emarsys opened its Indianapolis headquarters in 2015 and very shortly announced plans to create an additional 170 jobs in the Circle City.
“Emarsys has a rich tradition of innovation in digital marketing,” Ohad Hecht, chief executive officer of Emarsys, said in a news release. “Joining forces with SAP, a leading global brand with an ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation in customer experience, is an exciting next step in our evolution.”
SAP says Emarsys’ operations will become part of its Customer Experience business unit. The company did not specify whether any jobs would be affected by the acquisition.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
