Subscribe NowChicago-based Egglife Foods Inc. has inked another major distribution deal for its egg white wraps made in the White County town of Wolcott. The company says the wraps are now available at more than 1,100 Food Lion stores.
The stores are primarily located in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S. Egglife said the grocery chain will carry the original and everything bagel flavors of the popular wraps.
Food Lion is one of several retail chains owned by Netherlands-based Ahold Delhaize. Several other chains under its umbrella, including Stop & Shop, Giant Martins and Giant Food, already carry the Egglife wraps.
“We’ve seen strong distribution growth within the Ahold Delhaize portfolio of brands in a short period of time,” Egglife CEO David Kroll said in a news release. “That speaks volumes about the shared commitment of egglife and each banner to provide as many consumers as possible with access to delicious and nutritious better-for-you food alternatives.”
The announcement comes just over two months after Egglife said its products were being sold in Whole Foods stores.
Egglife’s wraps are made with cage-free egg whites and other clean ingredients, the company said. The wraps were named a winner in the Protein-Packed Favorites category of Good Housekeeping’s 2023 Best Snack Awards.
The company announced plans in 2018 to build a production facility in the Mid-America Commerce Park in Wolcott. The facility opened in 2019.
