Early Learning Programs Land Grants

Subscribe NowEarly Learning Indiana says more than $170,000 in grants will boost access to early childhood education in Lafayette, Muncie and Lake County. The organization says the funding will create dozens of new, permanent spots in pre-k programs.
The grant recipients include:
- Christ United Methodist Church Childcare in Lafayette, which received $47,500 to create eight new spaces, improve facilities, purchase classroom materials and support professional development
- Hazelwood Christian Preschool in Muncie, which was awarded $35,000 for eight new spaces, facility updates and new classroom materials
- Baby Steps Childcare in Lake Station, which received $90,000 for 36 new spaces, facility improvements, classroom materials and instruction support
Since 2015, Early Learning Indiana says it has awarded more than $1.5 million to create 1,300 new seats in childcare and pre-k programs throughout the state.
