Drone Racing Championships Return to Purdue

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowPurdue University is again hosting the Collegiate Drone Racing National Championships. The second annual event is Saturday inside Lambert Fieldhouse on the West Lafayette campus.
Dozens of pilots from 20 universities across the country will compete. The pilots will navigate their homemade drones through an obstacle course at 80 to 90 mph. Flight times run from 10am to 6:30pm Saturday. Pilots initially compete in six qualifying races, and 16 will advance to the championship races that begin at 5pm.
The championships are organized by the Collegiate Drone Racing Association, which was established by the Purdue Drone Club. More information on the championships can be found here.
