DNR Outdoor Recreation Promotes Brier

Subscribe NowDale Brier, who has worked in the DNR Division of Outdoor Recreation for more than 20 years, has been promoted to division director. He started at DNR in 1997 as an intermittent laborer working on Wildcat Creek. In 1998, Brier started his first full-time role in DNR Outdoor Recreation as a streams and trails specialist. In 2008, he became section chief for streams and trails, overseeing trails of all types, the scenic river program and all of the DNR’s motorized facilities. Brier also worked with the Trails Advisory Board, the Blue River Commission, and the Wabash River Heritage Corridor Commission. As division director, he oversees not only the steams and trails section, but also the Grants and Planning section. Brier earned a B.S. from Purdue University in Forestry with a concentration in Recreational Resources.
